Power Requirements:

ALL SeaViewer Cameras and Monitors require 12VDC (12 Volts Direct Current) power for operation (may be require higher DC Voltage with extreme cable lengths and lights).

Correct Polarity MUST be observed. On all our cable power connectors, the center pin is Positive. Reversing the Polarity will permanently damage the camera.

Use of any higher voltage, or AC (Alternating Current) directly into the equipment, without first going through a 12VDC convertor will permanently damage the equipment. We supply a 12VDC cigarette lighter adapter with all cameras. This MUST be plugged into a 12 Volt DC power source with the correct Polarity. We also provide a 110/240 VAC 50/60Hz adapter which converts 110/240 VAC 50/60Hz to 12VDC. If you have power other than 110/240 VAC 50/60Hz, you must first convert it to 110/240 VAC 50/60Hz before using the adapter. Such convertors are common, and can be obtained at your local electronics store.

 MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

GENERAL MAINTENANCE:
All SeaViewer Camera bodies and cables are designed for intermittent use in fresh and saltwater natural environments under normal, ambient conditions. After each use, rinse the cable and camera body with fresh water. Then allow to dry before storing. Do not submerge the surface end (connectors) of the cable.

There are no user-serviceable parts inside the camera or cable. The cable is molded into the camera body during manufacturing, and cannot be separated (to assure integrity). Therefore, additional cable length can only be added at the time of original manufacturing.

Electronic accessories, such as the 110VAC and 12VDC adapters, should not be submerged and care should be taken to protect from spray. The Monitor should be carefully positioned to protect from temperature extremes and spray while in use. When not in use, it should be stored in a controlled environment to protect from heat and humidity.

SERVICE AND/OR REPAIR:
Any issues requiring servicing should be discussed with your Dealer or Retailer. If your equipment was obtained directly from the factory, contact SeaViewer at the number/address given in this website to arrange service and/or repairs.

Many times, simple trouble-shooting techniques can be discussed over the phone or via email, thus avoiding expensive shipping charges and delays. In most cases, difficulties can overcome in this manner. In any case, shipments will not be accepted at the dock unless you have contacted SeaViewer in advance and received an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) NUMBER prior to shipment. You must clearly indicate your RMA NUMBER on the outside of the shipping container.

Please include inside the container a brief description of your problem, along with your return shipping and contact information.
